Alkevan are a folk quartet that capture the soul of storytelling through their original music. With a blend of captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Alkevan invites you to join them on a musical journey filled with emotions and stories.

Alkevan are Alan Harvey, Kevin Moffat, Richard Norris and Matilda Harvey. They have been playing folk clubs and festivals since 2012 and are recognised for their harmony singing, rhythmic guitars, bodhran and lyrical violin playing together with their original songs. Alan is the main vocalist, having previously sung with Tanglefoot UK and The Harvey Band. Kevin plays guitar as well as adding backing vocals and has written most of the songs playing upon his Cornish roots with songs of the sea, love, mystery, murder and mischief! Richard brings his bass playing to the Alkevan sound whilst Matilda provides the extra ingredient with her beautiful lyrical violin.​

Alkevan’s album, Saltwater Rain, is out on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp. Lots of plans in store both recording and performing in 2026!
