About Alkevan

Alkevan are a folk quartet that capture the soul of storytelling through their original music. Alkevan are Alan Harvey, Kevin Moffat, Richard Norris and Matilda Harvey. They have been playing folk clubs and festivals since 2012 and are recognised for their harmony singing, rhythmic guitars, bodhran and lyrical violin playing together with their original songs.

Alan is the main vocalist, having previously sung with Tanglefoot UK and The Harvey Band. Kevin plays guitar as well as adding backing vocals and has written most of the songs playing upon his Cornish roots with songs of the sea, love, mystery, murder and mischief! Richard brings his bass playing to the Alkevan sound whilst Matilda provides the extra ingredient with her beautiful lyrical violin.

Alkevan have recently physically released their latest EP (out online soon), Songs for Marie, with a new EP in the making. Upton and Warwick Folk Festivals, Greenhouse Retreat (Saltash) and the Heart of England folk club have been recent highlights. Saltwater Rain, is available on streaming platforms and Bandcamp.
